MONETIZATION CHANGES DETAILS

We have shifted the Bazaar from a Free-to-Play to a Premium experience.

Upgrade to Premium

  • All players who have created a Tempo Account that played past the tutorial as of 8/8 at 12:30 PDT, will be given the heroes Pygmalien, Dooley, and Mak.

  • Going forward, the base game will include the heroes Vanessa, Pygmalien, and Dooley, sold as a set with a launch price of $39.99.

  • Future heroes will not be sold for gems and will be available for $19.99.

 

We have launched a new Hero: Stelle, the Ingenious Engineer.

 

With the launch of Stelle, comes new encounters, new enemies, and over 100 new items.

Steam

  • The Bazaar is now available on Steam!  

  • In order to play any Bazaar content on Steam, you must first buy the base game on Steam. If you prefer, you may continue playing through the Tempo Launcher.

  • For the first three days of launch, 8/13 – 8/16, we will be providing a sale on Steam where we sell the Base Game (Vanessa, Dooley, and Pygmalien) AND Stelle for $19.99.

  • Upon purchasing the base game on Steam, you will be able to link your Tempo account and transfer over any skins or Heroes you have unlocked. This includes Mak (which was just added to all Tempo accounts active before 8/8).

Ranked Mode Changes

  • We no longer have Ranked tickets, you can play Ranked as much as you’d like.  

  • Any saved Ranked Tickets will automatically be converted to 100 Gems each.

  • Rank progress will continue to reset each month so players can still earn Ranked rewards.

Normal Mode Changes

  • Normal mode will now award chests just like Ranked.

  • We’ve made changes to the matchmaking of Ghosts during a player’s first Normal games, introducing increasingly difficult Ghosts over time.

  • Normal mode should now feel like an easier place to learn the game.

Chest and Store Changes

  • Moving forward, both Gems and Chests will only provide cosmetic upgrades and neither will provide any gameplay advantages.

  • Chest rewards at the end of runs have been increased to 2/4/6 from 1/2/3.

  • Chest no longer naturally give Gems, but will have rare chances to drop large amounts of Gems.

  • Chest rarity drop rates higher rarities have been increased.

  • Duplicate cosmetics will no longer be possible, instead, you will obtain Gems equal to their cost in the Store for that rarity tier

  • We are replacing our rotating Seasonal Chests with a Chest that has the potential to provide almost all available cosmetics.

  • The Store will no longer have limited time content. Instead, the Store offers Daily rotational offers from the Chest themselves.

  • Chests can be purchased by pressing the + button next to the chest icons and are purchasable in the following increments.

    • 1 for 200 Gems

    • 10 for 1800 Gems (10% discount)

    • 100 for 15000 Gems (25% discount)

Prize Pass and Subscription Changes

  • The Prize Pass is completely free and will no longer offer tier skips.

  • Cosmetic content in the current Prize Pass will be added to the Chest once the Prize Pass rotates out.

  • The Prize Pass will only reset with major releases, approximately every few months.

  • We will no longer sell or renew subscriptions.  Existing subscriptions will continue until they expire, earning double XP and up to 12 chests per run until they expire.

Canceling Plans for Marketplace

  • We no longer have plans to develop a player-to-player marketplace.  With this shift, we will soon be removing the ability for accounts to have duplicate cosmetics, providing gems in place based on the tier.  At that time, all duplicates will be converted to gems.

  • With no player-to-player marketplace on the horizon, we will also be sunsetting mint numbers.

Future Hero Expansions

  • We are removing Hero Expansions from the Prize Pass.  If you have a hero unlocked, you will have access to the same pool of items as everyone else who has that hero unlocked.

  • We will continue creating new items for each hero, and future items will arrive in the Bazaar at the same time for all players.

GENERAL CHANGES

  • Start of Run

    • Day 1 Hour 1 is now a normal Hour, no longer offering special choices

    • Players now start with 7 income and 15 starting gold

  • Item Drop Rates

    • The drop rates of items and skill by tier have been adjusted

    • The primary change is that Gold items/skills now start to show up at day 6 instead of day 5 (but show up at a higher frequency once they do)

  • Freeze and Slow Reduction (New/Modified Mechanic)

    • Items can now gain attributes that reduce the duration of the applied effects

      • Items with full reduction would reduce the duration to 0 but can still be targeted by such effects

      • Reduced (even to 0) Freeze or Slow effects still counts as triggers for “When you Freeze” and “When you Slow”

  • Destroy Immunity (New/Modified Mechanic)

    • Items can now be immune to Destroy effects

      • Such items can still be targeted by Destroy effects

      • “When you Destroy” does not trigger if the Destroy effect is prevented by Destroy Immunity

  • Radiant and some other similar effects are being updated to use the above Reduction and Immunity attributes

    • Some, like Desperate Cleanse and Icebreaker, will continue to function as before, removing based on a trigger or item use

  • Flying (New Mechanic)

    • Items can now enter the “Flying” state

    • Items that are Flying reduce have 50% Freeze and Slow immunity (reducing their applied durations by half)

  • Enchantments

    • Scaling enchantments that convert output types (e.g. poison ↔︎ damage) have been reduced

    • Many other enchantments have been updated in minor ways

  • Burn/Regen interaction

    • Updated Burn so it ticks before Regen when they would both occur on the same frame

  • Haunting Kimono

    • Haunting Flight (New Skill): The first time you use an item each fight, [–/1/2/3] item(s) starts Flying.
