Got the Julian off a random item event on day 3 or 4, decided to give him a go, and it worked out great for me. Had him buffing the board by about 400 damage by the end. Getting the Cog from a random haste item event helped a lot, since it allowed Julian’s first buff to go off before the Shuriken, resulting in so much damage that the Ballista often wasn’t even needed. And the heal enchant on the Pistol Sword meant that even if an opponent nearly killed me before the Shuriken went off, I usually healed back to full when that happened.
